Introducing the Airmiles Reward Category on Plum Storefront
We are enabling a new Airmiles category on the Plum Storefront for your account. This allows end-users to redeem their points for airline miles from selected airline partners directly through the storefront interface.
What is the integration method?
This is a standard SSO and iframe integration for Plum Storefront. The integration is lightweight and doesn't require complex backend setup.
Will Airmiles be available via API?
No, Airmiles will not be available over API.
What is the expected timeline for availability?
Based on current plans, the Airmiles category is expected to go live on the Plum Storefront by mid-June 2025.
Post go-live, integration timelines are estimated to be 15–25 days.
Which airline partners will be available in Phase 1?
In Phase 1, the following airline partners will be available:
- Qatar Airways
- Air Arabia
- Air Asia
- SriLankan Airlines
- Garuda Indonesia
- SpiceJet
- Gulf Air
- Citi Link
How will users redeem Airmiles?
Users will be able to log in via SSO to the Plum Storefront and redeem points for Airmiles from the available partners. Redemption will be seamless and contained within the storefront experience.
Can new airlines be added later?
Yes, more airline partners will be added over time. However, they will only be made available through the Plum Storefront, not via API, due to the compliance and approval considerations.
What will the price per mile be?
The price per mile varies by airline and is subject to change based on airline partner agreements and conversion rates. Specific pricing details for each airline can be shared upon request or viewed within the Plum Storefront once the category is live. Please reach out to your account manager for the latest rate card.
Are we and our clients allowed to use airline logos and/or frequent flyer program (FFP) branding assets to promote the partnership? If so, how does that process typically work?
- Use of airline logos and FFP branding is subject to approval from each airline partner. In most cases:
- Logos and assets can be used within the Plum Storefront, as per brand guidelines agreed with the partner.
- For external promotional use (e.g., marketing materials, emailers, client websites), pre-approval from the airline partner is required.
- Requests for such usage should be routed through the Plum team, who will coordinate with the respective airline to obtain approval.
- We recommend not using any airline branding externally without explicit written permission to avoid compliance issues.
Will the miles be credited instantly or in what time frame?
Airline mile crediting times vary by partner but generally follow these guidelines:
- Most redemptions are processed within 24–72 hours.
- Some airlines may take up to 5–7 business days, depending on their backend processing systems.
Exact timelines will be shown on the storefront at the time of redemption, and users will receive a confirmation once their miles have been successfully credited.
